The Malaysian influencer sparked rage online when he called men who help with housework “gay” and “weak” .The influencer, who goes by dma_islam on Instagram, shared the controversial remarks on August 26 in a Threads post, sparking widespread backlash across social media.
A South China Morning Post report said that the influencer went to the comment section on his own post and wrote further enraged comments.
“Men who do housework are weak. Bro, you’re a man. You’re supposed to be the leader of the house. Why are you doing chores? Have you ever seen a king clean his own palace?” the report said.
The influencer compared husbands who sweep floors with monarchs who have gotten sidetracked from “important national affairs” and also added that a man’s true goal should be to make money rather than anything else.
“To make money, to conquer the world, to be the best, the strongest, the most respected man – not clean up your kids’ poop,” he commented.
In his controversial post, the Malaysian influencer also spoke poorly about men who share household duties with their partners. He claimed that men who take responsibility for tasks such as washing dishes, taking out the trash, or changing diapers are simply “lazy to work hard.”
His posts have received rightful hate from other Instagram users, people called him "toxic", "outdated" and "sexist."
Several social media users replied to his sexiest comments by writing that household chores are not defined by gender, and respect in a marriage is not determined by who washes the dishes.
The influencer's comment section is filled with men arguing about the homophobic/sexist posts that he has been making for a while now.
One user wrote, “He can’t even spell ‘loser’ correctly, and he wants to lecture others?” “Try getting married first. Then you’ll know who the real king of the house is,” another user added.
So far, the Malaysian influencer has remained silent, offering neither an apology nor a response to the mounting criticism.
This is not the very first time when the influencer is receiving backlash for his controversial posts online. He had been making content degrading women before. Claiming things like “career-minded women are stupid” and that “plus-sized people won’t be respected.”
