The Dental Council of India (DCI) is taking measures against individuals in oral care delivery services who have violated various regulations outlined in the Dentist Act of 1948 and the updated Dentist Code of Ethics Regulations of 2014.

After receiving numerous complaints, the Dental Council of India (DCI) has initiated actions against individuals practicing as dentists without the necessary qualifications. Additionally, the DCI will take action against clinics employing these unqualified individuals.

The Dental Council of India has planned to issue orders of seizure and termination against those who violate the Dental Act of 1948 or the updated Dentist Code of Ethics Regulations of 2014.

There is no documented proof or evidence that the Dental Council of India or any State Council has taken action against these types of practices in the past.

According to an official familiar with the issue, the Dental Council of India has asked the State Councils to create more awareness among the public about the consequences of receiving dental treatment from unlicensed individuals. Additionally, the State Councils have been instructed to prepare a thorough report on the actions taken and the outcomes achieved, to be submitted within 30 days. Using unskilled and unqualified personnel to perform dental treatment is one of the recognized infractions by the Dental Council of India.
