Washington, DC | October 10, 2025 (5WH): President Donald J. Trump has been declared in "exceptional health" after completing a comprehensive follow-up evaluation at Walter Reed National Military Medical Centre, his Physician said Thursday.
The evaluation, conducted as part of the President's ongoing health maintenance plan, included "advanced imaging, laboratory testing, and preventive health assessments" carried out by a multidisciplinary team of specialists, said Dr Sean P. Barbabella, Physician to the President and a U.S. Navy captain.
"These evaluations were performed in coordination with leading academic and medical consultants to ensure optimal cardiovascular health and continued wellness," said the memorandum by the presidential Physician to the White House Press Secretary.
Comprehensive laboratory studies "performed in conjunction with the visit were exceptional," it said, highlighting "stable metabolic, hematologic, and cardiac parameters."
In preparation for upcoming international travel, Trump also received "preventive health screenings and immunizations, including annual influenza and updated COVID-19 booster vaccinations," the doctor added.
Dr Barbabella wrote that the president "continues to demonstrate excellent overall health," noting that his "cardiac age—a validated measure of cardiovascular vitality via ECG—was found to be approximately 14 years younger than his chronological age."
"He continues to maintain a demanding daily schedule without restriction," Barbabella wrote in the memo addressed to White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt.
The summary section of the document stated plainly: "President Donald J. Trump remains in exceptional health, exhibiting strong cardiovascular, pulmonary, neurological, and physical performance."
Previous medical evaluations, both during and after his first term, were also described as strong, with doctors frequently noting his energy levels and cardiovascular condition.
The report's upbeat tone mirrors previous assessments released during his tenure. In past evaluations, Trump's doctors have described his health as "excellent" and highlighted his ability to handle a heavy workload.
Walter Reed, located in Bethesda, Maryland, has long served as the primary hospital for presidents and senior U.S. officials. It provides comprehensive diagnostic and emergency care and has been the site of numerous presidential exams and treatments for decades.
Friday's report suggests Trump is maintaining his exercise and dietary regimen under medical supervision. The document emphasised coordination with "academic and medical consultants," indicating input from sources beyond military doctors.
