Gurugram, India: A Gurugram resident has described on social media how a rapid response from Blinkit’s in-app ambulance service helped transport a patient to a hospital within minutes during a medical emergency.
According to a social media post by a user identified as Harpreet, a friend’s family requested an ambulance through the Blinkit application during an emergency in Gurugram. The ambulance reportedly arrived within four minutes of the request and transported the patient to a hospital emergency department within about 20 minutes.
In the post, the user wrote that the ambulance staff, including paramedic attendants and the driver, responded promptly and managed the situation during transport. The patient was admitted to the hospital for further care.
The user also stated that after hospital admission formalities were completed and the patient’s condition had stabilised, family members stepped outside to thank the ambulance crew but found that the team had already left. They later realised that the ambulance service had been provided without any charge.
The post attracted attention online, with several users discussing the availability of rapid emergency transport in urban areas. Reports also noted that the details described in the viral post are based on a personal account on social media and were not independently verified by some outlets.
Blinkit, an Indian quick commerce platform that delivers groceries and household items through its mobile application, has introduced an ambulance service in Gurugram that can be requested directly through the Blinkit mobile application.
The service is designed to provide Basic Life Support ambulances for medical emergencies. According to reports, the vehicles are deployed across multiple locations in the city to improve response times and reach patients quickly.
Each ambulance is staffed by a trained emergency response team that typically includes a paramedic, an assistant, and a driver. The ambulances carry emergency medical equipment such as oxygen cylinders, automated external defibrillators, patient monitoring devices, stretchers, suction devices, and essential emergency medicines. This equipment allows paramedics to provide initial stabilisation and monitoring during transport to a hospital.
Rapid ambulance response is important in medical emergencies because early intervention can improve survival and recovery in conditions such as trauma, breathing distress, cardiac events, and other acute illnesses.

A separate account described earlier how a Blinkit ambulance responded to a medical emergency involving a 90-year-old woman in Gurugram who developed sudden breathing difficulty at home.
According to the family’s account, paramedics reached the location within minutes after the request was placed through the app. They provided oxygen support and monitored the patient’s vital signs before transporting her to a hospital.
The family reported that her oxygen saturation level had fallen to about 81 percent, indicating severe oxygen deficiency. After receiving oxygen support from the paramedics, her oxygen levels reportedly improved to the high 90 percent range before hospital admission.
Emergency medical transport services help ensure that patients experiencing acute symptoms receive rapid medical assessment and stabilisation while being transported to a healthcare facility, which can be critical in time-sensitive conditions.
