Faridabad, Haryana: A shocking case of sexual violence has emerged from Faridabad, where a 25 year old woman was gang raped inside a private hospital ambulance after she accepted what she believed was a safe ride home late at night. Police have arrested two men in connection with the crime, reigniting concerns over women’s safety and the misuse of emergency services.

The incident occurred on the night of December 29 and continued into the early hours of December 30. According to police, the woman had gone to visit a friend in Sector 23 and was returning home around midnight. She took an auto rickshaw to NIT 2 Chowk and was waiting there when the two accused approached her.

Offered Help Turned Into Horror

The men offered her a lift, presenting themselves as trustworthy and showing her an ambulance. Believing it to be a safe option, the woman agreed to get inside. Instead of taking her home, the accused diverted the vehicle towards the Gurugram Faridabad road.

While the ambulance was moving, both men sexually assaulted her. The woman later said she screamed for help, but thick fog and empty roads meant no one heard her. In a video that surfaced later, she recounted how one of the accused transferred ₹600 to her PayTM account before snatching her mobile phone and locking her inside the vehicle.

After driving for several kilometers, the men pushed her out of the ambulance near Raja Chowk at around 3 am. She sustained serious injuries from the assault and the fall.

Survivor Under Medical Care

The woman was rushed to a private hospital where doctors found she had suffered severe physical trauma, including facial injuries and a fractured shoulder. She remains under treatment and has already undergone surgery for facial wounds. With her consent, doctors are planning further procedures for her shoulder.

Family members say she is deeply traumatized, both physically and emotionally. They have appealed for financial help to manage the cost of her ongoing treatment.

Accused Arrested, Probe Continues

Police acted swiftly after the complaint was filed and arrested both accused. One is from Mathura and the other from Jhansi in Uttar Pradesh. Investigators confirmed that both men were previously employed on the private hospital ambulance, one as a driver and the other as a helper.

The accused have been sent to judicial custody. Police are preparing to conduct an identification parade before a magistrate once the survivor’s health improves. Further questioning will follow as the investigation progresses.

Women’s Commission Steps In

The Haryana State Commission for Women has taken cognizance of the case. Chairperson Renu Bhatia has sought a detailed report from the Faridabad Police and assured the survivor and her family of full support. The commission is closely monitoring developments to ensure accountability and justice.
