Faridabad, Haryana: The Meditrina Heat Centre inside Badshah Khan Civil Hospital was shut on August 24. The centre was reopened 5 months ago and was part of the Public-Private-Partnership plan.
Haryana Minister Vipul Goyal and Faridabad Minister Praveen Joshi were present for the inauguration of the Meditrina heart centre inside the Faridabad Civil Hospital on March 20, 2026.
According to TOI reports, none of the patients or attendants was given any indication of the closure, so everyone was equally shocked to see the “Centre Closed” notice pasted at the Meditrina Centre. The same notice also stated that all heart services have been stopped.
The sudden shutdown of the heart centre has also left patients who were being attended to at the Faridabad Civil Hospital in shock and uncertainty after they saw the stacked beds and wrapped equipment kept outside near the OPD complex.
Chief Medical Officer Jayant Ahuja was also informed about the shutdown of the heart centre. Ahuja said in an interview with TOI that the private company was planning on closing its services in Haryana and that one of the doctors working in the heart centre had already left a few days ago. He mentioned that the private operator was given enough time to recruit a new doctor.
He also said that Meditrina is asking the government to clear their Rs 8.5 crore pending payment, and the government has asked them to provide supporting bills and receipts for the pending payment; however, they have been unable to show any proof against the claims.
Ahuja said, “ They don't have any bills, or have not produced any bill. They have simply claimed Rs 8.5 crores is pending.” He also added that no payment has been pending with the government.
According to the reports, Dr. Manjhu Prathap, CEO of Meditrina Hospitals Group, said that they have cancelled their contract due to unreleased payments from the Government. He said that there were promises made to them by the DGHS and CMOs, but payment of 8.5 crore remains pending.
Dr. Manjhu added that the company has given prior notice to the CMO and PMO before the suspension of services. He also said that their equipment is being held illegally as the company has already given notice about the removal of equipment after the contract was cancelled.
He criticised the delayed payments of the Ayushman patients even after Haryana Minister Vipul Goyal had promised to clear the payments 2.5 years ago.
Meditrina Hospital Group has been operating under the PPP plan with many other hospitals, but Dr. Manjhu mentioned that they have experienced the most difficulties in Faridabad.
