What prompted you to choose this profession?
Dr. Mohan Reghu: Always been fascinated by surgery, any kind, and when I got selected for this course I didn’t think twice.
What is the best part about being a dental student/professional?
Dr. Mohan Reghu: The fact that you can change lives and play a big part in shaping someone’s whole identity while being either invasive or non-invasive according to your interests.
How do you like spending your free time?
Dr. Mohan Reghu: Biking, Long drives, reading about the cosmos
Which is your favorite subject in dentistry and why?
Dr. Mohan Reghu: Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery
Which is your least favorite subject in dentistry?
Dr. Mohan Reghu: Orthodontics, I am by default bad at it otherwise it’s a beautiful subject.
What are some studying tips you use to retain and understand things better?
Dr. Mohan Reghu: Read, Recollect and Revise
Which dental procedure(s) you enjoy/anticipate doing the most?
Dr. Mohan Reghu: Extractions, Impactions, Biopsies, Trauma Management, hopefully ORIF’s, orthognathic surgeries and other surgical procedures soon
What do you enjoy more, doing an RCT or extracting teeth?
Dr. Mohan Reghu: Extracting teeth
What are some challenges you face in your professional field?
Dr. Mohan Reghu: Personally I am not cut out for aesthetics or anything that needs patience so a lot of procedures in general dentistry, though I am capable of doing is not something I enjoy doing honestly and that is a challenge I am still trying to overcome.
How would your friends describe you?
Dr. Mohan Reghu: The close ones definitely won’t describe me in a good way 😅
What has been the best/ most memorable moment in your dental school so far?
Dr. Mohan Reghu: First extraction, first RCT, first conference scientific paper presentation winning, results day… lots to put in here!
Has dentistry impacted your food choices? Like, do you consume less sugary and sticky food items?
Dr. Mohan Reghu: Nope, I engorge on sweets just that I remember and brush my teeth afterwards.
As a dental health professional, what is your dental health care regime?
Dr. Mohan Reghu: Brush twice properly, floss at least thrice a week.
If given a choice, what alternate career would you have opted for?
Dr. Mohan Reghu: A career in the military: either as an infantryman or as a fighter pilot.
Where would you like to work in the future?
Dr. Mohan Reghu: In a hospital setup with regular OTs and anywhere where I’m on my heels 24/7 and where work is basically an everyday adventure.
What is your dream travel destination?
Dr. Mohan Reghu: Egypt, Edinburgh, New York, there’s lots.
Tell us a secret talent(s) that the world does not know about you.
Dr. Mohan Reghu: I can cook up some really good food, but I’m not good with portions so I just lie saying I don’t know how to.
What are you not very good at?
Dr. Mohan Reghu: Anger management, Patience, Decision making in the right way lol
