Missing directions while driving is very common and happens to all of us. However, have you ever thought that it could lead to death by a gunshot? Unfortunately, that's exactly what happened in Hebron town of New York on April 15.

Kaylin Gillis and three of her friends were peacefully driving and searching for a friend's house. However, the person driving lost directions and accidentally drove into the driveway of Kevin Monahan.

What seemed like a small mistake quickly turned into bloodshed. The group of friends was trying to turn the car around the driveway when Monahan came out on his porch and opened fire twice.

Unfortunately, one of those shots struck 20-year-old Kaylin Gillis. The group quickly drove to the neighboring town of Salem and called for emergency services. However, it was too late, and Kaylin Gillis was pronounced dead when first responders reached the car.

The group of friends did not even get out of the car to interact with Monahan. The group of friends did nothing to make Monahan feel threatened. The 65-year-old was arrested and charged with second-degree murder without bail. He is known for being impulsive and bitter about trespassers among the neighbors.

Kaylin was described as a kind and loving soul who was a "ray of light" for people around her. She was looking forward to starting college in Florida to fulfill her dream of becoming a marine biologist.

Small Misunderstandings Resulting in Large Killings?

Gillis' death came just two days after the shooting of 16-year-old Ralph Yarl on April 13. Yarl was shot twice by Andrew Lester for ringing the wrong doorbell. Two cheerleaders Heather Roth and Payton Washington were shot by Pedro Tello Rodriguez Jr. for getting into the wrong car. These incidents over small misunderstandings are a huge concern and show the reflection of gun violence in the USA.
