The prestigious 2023 Australian Open has started to heat up as it approaches the quarter-finals.

However, a controversy has been associated with the tournament as former tennis star Jelena Dokic has been subjected to 'body-shamming.'

Jelena Dokic was at the peak of her Tennis career as she achieved the #4 world ranking twenty years ago in August 2022.

However, due to some incidences off-court and injuries, her career descended. She stopped playing internationally in 2014.

Fast forward to 2023, Dokic now works as a commentator for CNN affiliate 9 and does on-air interviews after players win matches. However, unfortunately, Dokic has been severely 'body-shammed' and 'fat-shammed.'

A frustrated Dokic took to Instagram on January 23 to reveal the cyberbullying she has been facing for a few days. She claims that the derogatory messages have come from the entire world but especially Serbia. Dokic was born in Ukraine to a Serbian father. She was also shocked by some of the comments coming from women.

THE ‘BODY SHAMING’ AND ‘FAT SHAMING’ OVER THE LAST 24 HOURS HAS BEEN INSANE. COMING FROM EVERYWHERE IN THE WORLD AND A SPECIAL SHOUT TO SO MUCH OF IT COMING FROM SERBIA. AND YES A LOT OF THEM ARE WOMEN TOO. SO MUCH FOR ‘WOMEN SUPPORTING WOMEN’.
