In a shocking incident, a youngster from Uttar Pradesh who was preparing for medical entrance tests in Kota died while undergoing treatment. He had to be rushed to the city's MBS Hospital with a high sugar level and blood pressure, officials said on Sunday.

The deceased was a NEET aspirant identified as Shivam Raghav, 21 years old, from Aligarh district in UP. He had been preparing for the entrance test in Kota for the last three years and was living in a hostel room in Landmark City under the Kunhari police station in Kota.

The sub-inspector at Kunhari Police Station, Rajaram, said that the deceased had high sugar levels and blood pressure for the last six months. He was hospitalized at MBS Hospital on Friday after his condition deteriorated.

Raghav's condition continued to worsen in the hospital, following which he was shifted to the ICU, where he succumbed early Sunday morning.

After the post-mortem, the police handed over the body to the deceased's family members. His family had arrived in Kota after his hospitalization.

The police lodged a case under Section 174 of the Cr.P.C. for investigation.

According to family members, Raghav had qualified for the National Eligibility and Entrance Test (NEET) last year but unfortunately failed to secure admission into a government medical college.

Remarkably, this is the second such death of a student in the last four days in Kota.

Previously, on Thursday, Parneet Raj Roy (18), a 12th-grade student and Jamshedpur resident, died in MBS Hospital after his health deteriorated in his PG room.

His father, Rajiv Ranjan Roy, who reached Kota to claim the body after the post-mortem, had demanded an impartial investigation to ascertain the exact reason for his son's death.
