Doctors are considered to be one of the brightest minds in our country. Therefore, the behavior expected from them has to be decent. However, that was not the case with this 63-year-old doctor from Mumbai.
The plastic surgeon has been sentenced to six months of imprisonment for insulting the modesty of a female patient.
The female patient had come to get her nose fixed after it was damaged during an autorickshaw accident in 2017. She already had surgery done but there was still persistent swelling due to which her earlier surgeon referred her to this doctor.
However, what should have been a standard consultation quickly went south. During the examination, the doctor said, "You are beautiful, don't undergo surgery." He then went on to ask for a personal favor from the female patient.
The disgusting behavior led the patient to complain. Both parties went back and forth in the court. The defense of the accused doctor said that the patient has wrongly framed the doctor just because she wanted the surgery to be done for free.
However, based on certain observations, the magistrate slammed the doctor with imprisonment of six months.
