SSI Mantra, the first robotic surgery system made in India, was officially launched on Thursday at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra.

The SSI Mantra Robotic Surgery System, developed by SS Innovations and approved by the Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO), is known for its versatility and precision. It supports multiple specialties, including urology, gynecology, cardiology, and general surgery.

The Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Navi Mumbai, a leading healthcare facility, is renowned for offering high-quality care, specialized treatments, and the adoption of advanced medical technologies.

With SSI Mantra's cutting-edge technology, the hospital provides advanced solutions for complex surgeries involving the heart, ENT, urinary bladder, prostate, kidney, abdomen, cervix, and uterus. Before the official launch, the hospital had already performed six surgeries using the SSI Mantra.

By introducing India’s first indigenous robotic surgery system in Navi Mumbai at our facility, we are reaffirming our dedication to leveraging innovation for the benefit of our patients. All the doctors have undergone the required training to operate SSI Mantra. Using SSI Mantra doesn’t mean doctors are not required. It is the doctor who performs the surgery, giving commands remotely to the robotic arms.

Patient’s Experience: A Smooth Recovery with SSI Mantra

Suman Bhadra, a 40-year-old patient who underwent cholecystectomy surgery with the help of SSI Mantra, shared his experience:
"A routine body check-up revealed that I had a gallbladder stone. The doctors gave me two options: laparoscopic surgery or robotic surgery. The difference was in the minimal cut, shorter hospital stay, less bleeding, and reduced pain. I opted for robotic surgery, and on the same day, I was able to walk. Within two days, I was back home and resumed my routine."

Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Navi Mumbai has earned trust and recognition for its patient-centered approach by integrating advanced technology and a highly skilled medical team. The launch and use of SSI Mantra ensure that advancements in robotic surgery are accessible to patients.
