However, what's even more interesting is the reaction of some doctors on Reddit, who celebrated the murder, prompting moderators to delete the thread.
According to the reports, there are concerns about the growing animosity between healthcare providers and insurance companies. Many doctors have expressed frustration with the bureaucratic hurdles and reimbursement issues imposed by insurance companies, which they claim hinder their ability to provide quality patient care.
There has been such a savage reaction to Thompson's death on the r/medicine subreddit, which has more than 497,000 members, that the moderators have removed an entire thread about his assassination.
I cannot even guess how many person-years UHC has taken from patients and their families through denials. It has to be on the order of millions. His death won’t make that better, but it’s hard for me to sympathize when so many people have suffered because of his company.

Some even went so far as to call it "karma" and "justice." However, these comments were widely condemned by others in the medical community, who argued that celebrating violence and murder is never acceptable. This report has sparked a wider conversation about the need for greater empathy and understanding between healthcare providers and insurance companies.
