On Tuesday, two nurses helped a 33-year-old woman deliver her baby at a busy road intersection in Uttar Pradesh's Greater Noida.

The woman, Roshni Sharma, successfully underwent normal delivery on a footpath, with the quick intervention of the nurses ensuring the safety of both the baby and the mother.

The incident occurred on Tuesday at Pari Chowk in Greater Noida when Prashant Sharma, who is a woman's husband, sought help for his wife, who was undergoing labor pain.

Renu Devi, a nurse working at Sharda Hospital in the Knowledge Park 3 area, upon noticing the man's cry for help, swung into action and called her friend and fellow nurse Jyoti for assistance.

The two nurses managed to arrange a makeshift delivery set up on the roadside and facilitate the normal delivery with the help of two other women present at the site.

Subsequently, Roshni Sharma delivered a baby girl along the road at the busy Pari Chowk.

Renu said that as soon as she got there, the woman was suffering from labor pain. She called her fellow nurse, Jyoti; she was also leaving for duty, and she also came soon. They told people that they were nurses from Sharda Hospital. First, they covered the woman with her shawl with the help of a woman; after that, they both gave the woman a normal delivery.

After the normal delivery, the nurses wrapped the child in her father's jacket and took Roshni and the newborn to Sharda Hospital. At the hospital, the mother-daughter duo was provided with immediate post-delivery medical attention.

Renu further added, “After the delivery, we wrapped the child in his jacket, booked an auto, and started going to the hospital. The woman in the auto started feeling pain due to shock, but we woke her up and got her admitted to the hospital”.

A specialist in neonatology at Sharda Hospital, Dr. Ruchi Shrivastav, commended the nurses, stating that their timely and efficient actions were important in ensuring a safe delivery. Both the mother and the baby are said to be in stable condition.

Afterward, the hospital administration facilitated the two nurses with a cash prize of Rs. 51,000 each as an appreciation reward for their sterling services.
