In innovative medical care, the 'Arogaya-Doctor on Wheels' program reached Chanunta panchayat of Jammu and Kashmir's Udhampur on Sunday, ongoing to fill the gap in healthcare access for residents of remote villages in the valley.
The 'Doctor on Wheels' initiative engages geographically isolated communities, which include a large number of Panchayat Chanunta residents and surrounding villages who will benefit from consultations with qualified medical professionals.
'Arogya-Doctor on Wheels' provides critical care for those who might otherwise face difficulties in approaching traditional healthcare facilities. By delivering medical care directly to remote areas, 'Arogya-Doctors on Wheels' ensure that even the most vulnerable populations in Udhampur have the opportunity to receive quality medical care.
The initiative is inspired by the Digital Health Mission of the Prime Minister, which offers people expert medical consultation at their doorsteps. The 'Arogya-Doctor on Wheels' ambulance is equipped with the latest technology and system to connect patients with doctors from across the nation.
The facility offers relief to people living in far-flung areas of the Ramnagar area of Udhampur, where healthcare services are poor. It is the first healthcare service that will be delivered through a digital medium. This program will utilize specially equipped ambulances to provide medical consultations, diagnostics, and treatment to people in rural and underserved areas. The trained medical professionals, including doctors, nurses, and paramedics, are staffed in ambulances.
Previously, on January 14, 2024, Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) Science & Technology; MoS PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances, Pensions, Atomic Energy, and Space, Dr. Jitendra Singh, flagged off a state-of-the-art, artificial intelligence (AI)-supported telemedicine mobile clinic ''Aarogya Doctors on Wheels'' for remote hilly areas of Ramnagar area of Udhampur district of J&K.
