UK-based nutrition company, Feel Complete is on the lookout for the world’s first ‘Poommelier’, an expert on the sight and odor of fecal matter. They are planning to hire & train 5 people. The training will cover all the bases of digestive health and nutrition. Trainees are expected to earn £1,500. In the end, one person will ultimately get the world’s first ‘Poommelier’ title and a job at their online clinic.

The imbalance of gut bacteria is called as dysbiosis, which results in the production of more methane gas by the gut. Now, this imbalance can be noticeable from the unpleasant smell of flatulence or from the poop itself.

Changes in bowel habits give people a comprehensive look into their digestive tracts. Even very small changes in odor, color, shape, texture, and bowel regularity of stool can indicate the health of the digestive system. Problems in the digestive system may result in extremely bad-smelling stools, which could be due to:

  • Food intolerances, like lactose intolerance

  • IBS (irritable bowel syndrome)

  • Infections

  • Inflammatory bowel disease

Or more serious health issues like cancer

“Being a poo expert might not be top of everyone’s list, but finding and training the world’s first ‘Poommelier’ is a way for us to take a serious issue like gut health and have a little fun with it.” - Aaron Providence, CEO of Feel Complete

People often avoid conversing about their digestive health out of embarrassment. Feel Complete aims to break this stigma related to ‘poop’ as bowel habits and stools provide a vital insight into our health.

All ambitious ‘Poommeliers’ looking to apply for the job must be aged 18 or above and have an excellent sense of smell. The training of the first Poommelier starts in March 2023 for six months.
