Homeopathy witnessed substantial positive support in 2023, bringing cheer to its patrons. Several key developments are outlined below:
1) Every year, World Homeopathy Day is celebrated on April 10. The theme for the year 2023 is One Health, One Family.
2) The First WHO Traditional Medicine Global Summit took place on August 17 and 18, 2023, in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, alongside the G20 Health Ministerial Meeting. It was co-hosted by the WHO and the Government of India.
3) King Charles III appointed Dr. Michael Dixon, a pro-homeopathy doctor, as the head of the medical wing of the royal household.
4) ICMR and AYUSH signed a Memorandum of Understanding for collaboration and cooperation for research in the field of integrated medicine, to use alternative medicines like Homeopathy, Ayurveda, Unani, and Siddha with the conventional system of medicine to make a comprehensive treatment plan.
5) AIIMS Bhubaneswar has partnered with the Central Council for Research in Homeopathy (CCRH) to establish a department of integrative medicine.
6) The National Homeopathic Conference 2023 was inaugurated by Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami at Doon University, Dehradun, on May 14, 2023. He cited his vision to make Uttarakhand an Ayush Pradesh.
7) Uttar Pradesh government to set up a new AYUSH board, sanctions funds to boost homeopathy education.
8) The National Commission for Homeopathy introduces new regulations for examinations, named as National Commission for Homeopathy Regulations 2023.
9) The global homeopathy products market is expected to witness a CAGR of 18.1% during the forecast period of 2023–2033, according to a market research and competitive intelligence report.
10) In a big win for molecular homeopathy, a new study by Bhopal’s CSIR-AMPRI and the government homeopathic medical college of Bhopal confirmed that homeopathic medicines have strong electromagnetic energy in small concentrations. The study was published in Elsevier’s Science Direct journal.
