Dr. Béla Merkeley, a sports and interventional cardiologist from Hungary, was born on June 28, 1966. In addition to being a university professor and the director of Semmelweis University's Heart and Vascular Centre, Dr. Merkely has served as Semmelweis University's rector since July 1, 2018.
