AIIMS Delhi Ranks 6th Among World’s Best Hospitals in 2026 Global Rankings

India’s public healthcare system has earned rare global recognition, with the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi securing the sixth position among the world’s top hospitals in the 2026 Brand Finance Global Top Hospitals rankings. The achievement places AIIMS alongside some of the most prestigious medical institutions globally and marks a defining moment for Indian healthcare on the international stage.

The rankings assess hospitals across parameters such as brand strength, reputation, quality of care, research performance, and innovation. AIIMS New Delhi stood out for its ability to deliver advanced medical care at scale while maintaining strong academic and research standards.

Strong Scores in Care, Research and Brand Strength

According to the Brand Finance evaluation, AIIMS recorded a Brand Strength Index score close to 80, reflecting widespread trust and recognition among healthcare professionals and patients worldwide. Its research score and care delivery score also ranked among the highest globally, underscoring the institute’s dual role as both a major clinical center and a leading research institution.

Despite managing one of the highest patient volumes globally, AIIMS continues to deliver complex treatments, train future medical professionals, and contribute to cutting edge medical research. The ranking highlights how a publicly funded hospital from a developing country can compete with elite private institutions from the United States and Europe.

Tata Memorial Centre Mumbai Enters Global Top 15

India’s presence in the global rankings was further strengthened by the Tata Memorial Centre in Mumbai, which secured the 13th position worldwide. Known for its leadership in cancer care and oncology research, Tata Memorial Centre has long been regarded as a center of excellence in cancer treatment.

Its high ranking reflects sustained performance in patient outcomes, research output, and specialized care delivery. The inclusion of both AIIMS New Delhi and Tata Memorial Centre in the top global rankings highlights India’s strength in both general tertiary care and specialized oncology services.
