Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche confirmed that the release includes more than six million pages of documents, along with more than 2, 000 videos and 180, 000 images, connected to investigations into Epstein and his network.
The records referenced numerous high-profile individuals, including President Donald Trump, former President Bill Clinton, and Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates.
The newly released materials contained email exchanges between Dr. Attia and Epstein dating back to 2015. One document, identified as EFTA02496403, contains a series of emails in which Attia appears to describe his relationship with Epstein as a friendship.
In an email dated June 24, 2015, Attia wrote: “You the biggest problem with becoming friends with you? The life you lead is so outrageous, and yet I can’t tell a soul…” The subject line of the exchange reads: “Got a fresh shipment.”
The emails also show Attia asking Epstein about his whereabouts, with Epstein responding that he was on his private island in the Caribbean near St. Thomas.
Additional reporting connected to the document release indicates that dozens of emails outline ongoing communication between the two. Dr. Attia is reported to appear more than 1,700 times across the released Epstein records. In December 2018, shortly after a Miami Herald investigation identified 80 of Epstein’s victims, Attia reportedly asked Epstein whether there had been any legal “fallout” from the coverage.
Dr. Attia has not issued a public statement responding to the release. Representatives associated with him have also not commented.
Jeffrey Epstein was arrested in 2019 on federal charges related to the sex trafficking of minors. He died by suicide later that year while in custody. Epstein had previously been convicted in 2008 on charges related to procuring a minor for prostitution.
