Divya Khossla Calls Out Kylie Jenner’s Lip Fillers: “Aged Way Ahead of Her Time”

“Kylie Jenner Looks Mature for Her Age”: Divya Khossla Slams Botox & Filler Craze

MBT Desk

Actor and filmmaker Divya Khossla has spoken publicly against the rising trend of cosmetic procedures such as fillers and Botox, saying that they are making celebrities look similar. She shared her views in a conversation with News18 Showsha, where she commented on international and Bollywood figures opting for such treatments.

Khossla cited Kylie Jenner as an example, noting that the American media personality has openly acknowledged using lip fillers since 2015. “Kylie is young but aged way ahead of her time. We should all let ourselves age gracefully,” Khossla said. She added, “Kylie Jenner looks mature for her age due to fillers.”

She also pointed out that in Bollywood, “you know which doctor a star has visited, and you can tell by their faces because all of them look pretty much the same.” According to her, widespread use of such cosmetic enhancements is taking away the uniqueness of natural appearances.

Proud of Her Imperfections

Khossla also voiced her opposition to heavy digital editing and AI corrections in photographs. “Thoda imperfection toh hona chahiye,” she said. “I tell my team not to over-retouch my pictures. Certain edited photos don’t even resemble me.”

She further added that despite being criticized for having a round face that does not align with conventional industry standards, she remains unapologetic. “I like my face. I’m not obsessed with makeup or the mirror. We should rather focus on our inner beauty.”

What Are Fillers and Botox?

  • Fillers: Gel-like substances, often made from hyaluronic acid, injected under the skin to add volume, smooth lines, and enhance facial contours. Results are temporary and usually last from 6 months to 2 years.

  • Botox: A purified protein that relaxes targeted muscles to reduce fine lines and wrinkles. Effects typically last 3 to 6 months.

Both treatments must be performed by trained medical professionals to reduce risks and ensure safe outcomes.

Medical Perspective on Fillers

Medical experts note that cosmetic fillers and Botox are widely used but are not without potential side effects. Fillers, often made of substances such as hyaluronic acid, are injected under the skin to enhance volume and reduce wrinkles. Botox is a purified protein that temporarily relaxes facial muscles to smooth fine lines. While both are considered safe when performed by trained professionals, they can lead to complications.

Dermatologist Dr. Karan Lal (DO, FAAD) addressed these risks in a recent Instagram reel. He explained that lip fillers can sometimes cause bumps or nodules depending on the technique and the product used. These nodules may appear immediately or develop later.

Dr. Lal also pointed out that lip fillers can trigger cold sore outbreaks in people with herpes, which is why preventive treatment may be given before the procedure. He added that improper placement of filler can lead to “migration,” where the material shifts from the intended area, creating shiny translucent patches. This phenomenon, called the Tyndall effect, happens when filler is injected too close to the skin surface and results in a bluish tint.

According to Dr. Lal, massaging the lips after filler depends on the type of product used. Some fillers are designed to be adjusted through massage, while others are not. He emphasized that subtle results are usually the safest and most natural-looking outcome.

Growing Debate

Khossla’s comments have fueled discussion around the normalization of cosmetic enhancements in popular culture. While many celebrities openly embrace such procedures, her stance reflects growing concerns about long-term effects, changing beauty standards, and the potential health risks of repeated interventions.

For the general public, experts advise consulting qualified medical professionals before undergoing any cosmetic treatment and being aware of both the benefits and the complications.
