A 34 year old man from Baghpat died under suspicious circumstances in Uttar Pradesh’s Bulandshahr after allegedly consuming an overdose of sexual enhancement pills during a meeting with his girlfriend. Police have launched a search for the woman who reportedly brought him to the district hospital and then disappeared.
The deceased has been identified as Vinod Kumar, 34, a resident of Fatehpur Puthi village in Baghpat. According to police, the incident has raised suspicion after the woman who accompanied him left the hospital soon after bringing him there.
Authorities have sent the body for postmortem examination to determine the exact cause of death.
According to information shared by the family, Vinod had been working in Punjab but had recently been staying in his village in Baghpat. His father told police that Vinod was the third among four sons.
On Sunday morning, Vinod left home telling his family that his employer had met with an accident and that he needed to go there.
However, around noon, a woman called Vinod’s brother Pradeep from Vinod’s phone and asked him to come to Bulandshahr, claiming that Vinod had met with an accident.
When Vinod’s relatives reached the district hospital in Bulandshahr, the woman who had brought him there reportedly claimed that Vinod was her husband.
Hospital authorities informed the police that a young man had been brought to the hospital by a woman who identified herself as his wife. Doctors declared him dead.
After receiving the information, police personnel reached the hospital. However, by the time officers arrived, the woman had already left the premises.
According to police sources, Vinod and the woman had first gone to a hotel in Bulandshahr, where he allegedly consumed an excessive quantity of sexual enhancement pills.
After leaving the hotel, the couple went to Malka Park. It was there that Vinod’s condition reportedly began to worsen suddenly.
Police sources suspect that Vinod may have suffered heart failure after the alleged overdose, but officials said the exact cause of death will only be confirmed after the postmortem report.
The case has become more suspicious because the woman left the hospital shortly after bringing Vinod’s body there.
Police have started an investigation based on a complaint filed by Vinod’s family, and efforts are underway to identify and locate the woman.
CO City Prakhar Pandey confirmed that the body has been sent for postmortem examination.
He said that the actual cause of death will be known only after the report is received, adding that police are currently trying to trace the woman who brought Vinod to the hospital.
Police said the investigation will examine the sequence of events, including the meeting between the two and the circumstances surrounding the alleged overdose.
Officials are awaiting the postmortem findings, which will determine whether the death was caused by a medical complication such as heart failure or by other factors.
