The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has issued the city intimation slip for the Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE) December 2025 session. Candidates will receive the information in their registered email id and phone number.
The FMGE is a qualifying licentiate examination conducted by NBEMS for Indian citizens and Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) who have obtained their primary medical qualification from foreign institutions and seek to practice medicine in India.
The city intimation slip informs registered candidates about the city/location where their FMGE exam centre is assigned. This slip does not contain the exact exam centre or address, but it confirms the city in which the candidate will be appearing for the exam.
Candidates must download the city intimation slip, as it is required at the time of entry to the exam centre along with the FMGE admit card, which will be issued later by NBEMS.
The FMGE December 2025 examination is scheduled to be conducted on 17 January 2026. Candidates are advised to review their city intimation slip well before the exam date to make necessary travel and accommodation arrangements as needed. Admit card will have the full details and will be issued on January 14th 2026 on natboard.edu.in.
The admit card typically includes:
Exact examination centre address
Date and time of reporting
Exam day instructions
Candidates must carry the printed admit card and a valid photo identification (such as passport, Aadhar card, or any government-issued ID) to the exam hall.
The FMGE is a qualifying exam required under the Foreign Medical Graduates Regulations by the National Medical Commission (NMC). It assesses whether foreign-trained medical graduates possess the necessary medical knowledge and clinical skills to practise medicine in India. Successful candidates are granted a license to practise medicine in India upon fulfilling all regulatory requirements.
Typically held twice a year, FMGE evaluates candidates on:
Core medical subjects
Clinical knowledge
Application of medical principles in practice
The exam helps maintain uniform standards of medical education and safety for patients in India, ensuring that foreign medical graduates meet national benchmarks before practising.
