Indian footballer Ravinder Singh, a 25-year-old defender for Namdhari FC, died after suffering a sudden cardiac arrest during a football match in Punjab. The incident occurred while he was playing in a local tournament, where he reportedly experienced chest pain and collapsed on the field. He was immediately taken to a nearby hospital but was declared dead shortly after arrival.

Who Was Ravinder Singh?

Ravinder Singh was a professional football defender associated with Namdhari FC, a club competing in India’s domestic football circuit. Originally from Majri village in Ludhiana district, Punjab, Singh had built his career through local football tournaments and club competitions.

In addition to playing professional football, he was also pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree at Babbar Akali Memorial Khalsa College in Garhshankar. Singh was considered an active athlete who regularly participated in competitive matches at regional and club levels.

What Happened During the Match?

According to reports, Ravinder Singh was playing in a football tournament in Punjab when he suddenly complained of chest pain during the game. Moments later, he collapsed on the field.

Players and officials immediately rushed to assist him and arranged for emergency medical transport. He was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. Despite these efforts, doctors declared him dead shortly after arrival.

Medical reports indicated that the likely cause of death was sudden cardiac arrest.

When and Where Did the Incident Occur?

The incident occurred during a local football match held in Punjab, reportedly in Bachhauri village in Nawanshahr district. Singh collapsed on the field during the match and was transported to a private hospital nearby.

He was declared dead on Wednesday after medical personnel attempted to treat him. The news quickly spread through the football community, prompting tributes from teammates, clubs, and officials.

His funeral was held in his hometown, where family members, friends, and members of the local football community gathered to pay their respects.

Following the announcement of his death, several football organizations and teams expressed condolences to Singh’s family. League officials announced that a minute of silence would be observed before upcoming matches to honor the player.
