Incident Overview: Who and What Happened

The deceased, Chandni Kumari, was employed as a head nurse at PMCH. According to police information, her husband, Sonu Kumar Singh, is accused of assaulting her during a late-night altercation at their residence in the Danapur police station area of Patna.

Authorities reported that Singh himself contacted the emergency helpline (112) after the incident. Police reached the location and took him into custody. A postmortem examination was conducted, and the body was later handed over to the family. The investigation is currently in progress.

When and Where the Alleged Assault Took Place

The incident took place on Friday night at the couple’s home on East Gola Road under the jurisdiction of Danapur police station in Patna, Bihar. Law enforcement officials responded shortly after receiving the emergency call and initiated legal procedures.

Possible Motive: Domestic Dispute and Financial Stress

Preliminary police findings indicate that the couple had ongoing domestic disagreements. Investigators noted that a quarrel related to Holi celebrations and financial stress reportedly escalated into violence.

Beauty Kumari, the victim’s sister, alleged that Singh had lost about ₹4 lakh in an online game, funds she said were provided by Chandni. She further claimed that Chandni had recently bought a plot of land and showed it to her husband on Friday afternoon, and that her in-laws often pressured her for money.

How the Death Reportedly Occurred

Based on initial police inputs, the victim was allegedly slapped forcefully, which reportedly caused bleeding from the ear. Investigators also observed possible indications of strangulation and chest trauma. She was declared dead soon after the incident.

Medical evidence from the postmortem will play a key role in establishing the exact cause of death. Officials stated that further legal steps will depend on forensic findings and the formal complaint submitted by the family.

Current Investigation Status
