I am a dental surgeon at Dr. Richu’s Happy Dentz Dental Clinic.

What prompted you to choose this profession?

It my aim to enter the medical field, to serve society.

What is the best part about being a dental student/professional? 

It gives me a sense of independence and security. I love the freedom.

How do you like spending your free time?

I love spending my free time with my family.

Which is your favorite subject in dentistry and why? 

Orthodontics—it brings about a visible change in the patient, which is well appreciated.

Which is your least favorite subject in dentistry?

Community dentistry/ Public Health dentistry.

What are some studying tips you use to retain and understand things better?

During college, I used to make notes. Currently I update myself with CDE (Continuing Dental Education) programs and go through journals. I learn through social media as well.

Which dental procedure(s) you enjoy/anticipate doing the most?

I love performing surgical cases.

What do you enjoy more, doing an RCT or extracting teeth?

Extraction

What are some challenges you face in your professional field?

Convincing patients to undergo treatment for their own benefit remains a challenge.

How would your friends describe you?

They would definitely call me a good friend.

What has been the best/ most memorable moment in your dental school so far?

Receiving patient satisfaction after a treatment was the most memorable experience in my early years.

Has dentistry impacted your food choices? Like, do you consume less sugary and sticky food items? 

Yes, I would say that. I do consume less sugary and sticky food items.

As a dental health professional, what is your dental health care regime? 

Routine dental check-up and following correct brushing technique is important.

If given a choice, what alternate career would you have opted for?

I would have been a teacher.

Where would you like to work in the future?

I would like to work in forensic dentistry in the future.

What is your dream travel destination?

Switzerland is my dream travel destination.

None. I am totally an open book.

What are you not very good at?

I am not into co-curricular activities.
