What do you do?

I am currently working at ICMR NCDIR (National Centre for Disease Informatics and Research), Bangalore as a Project Scientist 1 (Medical).

What prompted you to choose this profession?

I got inspired by reading and seeing the kind of the work public health professionals are doing and got inspired.

What is the best part about being a dental student/professional?

We can provide beautiful smile to many people. We can help them to get rid of dental pain and other dental problems.

How do you like spending your free time? 

Spending time with family, like travelling with them, and watching movies.

Which is your favorite subject in dentistry and why? 

Pediatric dentistry

Which is your least favorite subject in dentistry?

Oral pathology

What are some studying tips you use to retain and understand things better?

During my time in college, I joined group study sessions with my peers. It made it easier to remember the content.

Teeth Extraction

What do you enjoy more, doing an RCT or extracting teeth?

Extraction

What are some challenges you face in your professional field?

There are job opportunities, but the wages offered after five and a half years of study makes you very unhappy. It begins at 10,000. Since so many dentists are graduating in the same year, the profession's dignity is severely diminished.

How would your friends describe you?

Hard working doctor and a good companion.

What has been the best/ most memorable moment in your dental school so far?

The time I spent in my hostel. Like everything else, I liked it. My friends and I used to scream aloud in terror while watching scary movies together. We enjoyed eating at the restaurants at times.

Has dentistry impacted your food choices? Like, do you consume less sugary and sticky food items? 

Yes, I became more conscious about my food habits. I try to avoid more sugary and sticky food. I wash mouth immediately after eating foods like that now. Brushing twice. I make my kid also to brush twice.

As a dental health professional, what is your dental health care regime?

As a dental health professional, my dental care regime would be based on maintaining optimal oral health through consistent and effective practices. Brushing, flossing, diet and regular checkups.

If given a choice, what alternate career would you have opted for?

Clinical Psychology

Where would you like to work in the future?

I would like to work in some Multinational company which have health wings under them.

What is your dream travel destination?

European countries

I enjoy cooking.

What are you not very good at? 

I have got very poor mathematical skills.
