A stabbed victim walks into a hospital with intestines in hand
Road rages are an increasing phenomenon in all parts of India. A similar heart-rendering incident recently happened on the outskirts of Mumbai in broad daylight. The incident was so sinister that it will send chills down your spine.
A 30-year-old man recently walked into a hospital with his intestines in hand after being stabbed in a road rage incident. The incident happened at a hospital in Manpada in Dombivali.
The stabbing was a result of road rage that occurred between the victim Harshad Rasal and the accused Pandit Mhatre, a local cable operator.
The incident took place near Neptune Hospital when Harshad's mini truck collided with Mhatre's car. This initiated rage as Mhatre stepped out of the car and barged towards Rasal.
Bandu Rasal, Harshad’s uncle, got off the vehicle to reason with Mhatre and even offered compensation for the damage caused. But Mhatre started a heated argument, as stated by an officer from Manpada police station.
As the situation got intense, Harshad got down and tried to pacify him, but Mhatre didn’t budge. The accused made a call and asked some people to come over at the spot, said the officer.
Soon three men arrived at the scene and engaged in the brawl.
When Harshad tried to mediate, Mhatre rushed to his car to pull out a knife and stabbed him repeatedly. The victim's intestine came out with blood oozing from the injuries, as said by an officer.
Onlookers gathered and a few of them tried to help Harshad. But Mhatre brandished his knife and warned everyone around against helping. A passer by still tried to settle the heat only to get his thigh slashed by Mhatre. "Both the victims were immediately rushed to Neptune Hospital,” reported another officer.
“The doctors at Neptune Hospital told me to go to Mamata Hospital. So, my uncle and I took an autorickshaw to the hospital and I got admitted there. Afterward, I lost consciousness,” Harshad told the media. He is still in ICU, but out of danger.
Unfortunately, another civilian, Jaybhadra Mishra, got injured while trying to help Harshad. He was moved to AIMS Hospital in Dombivali.
“Mishra lost a lot of blood as his vein was slashed. He is in ICU and is in critical condition,” said a police officer.
As per the complaint, "we have lodged an FIR against Pandit Mhatre and three others. We have booked them under Sections 307 (attempt to murder), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 504 (international insult provoking breach of peace), 506 (criminal intimidation), and 34 (common intention) of the Indian Penal code,” said Shekhar Bagde, senior inspector, Manpada police station.
“Mhatre has been arrested, while the search is on for three other accused,” he added.
