An 82-year-old homeopathy doctor and his 36-year-old daughter were found dead in a suspected suicide at their residence in Bhopal on Sunday. A suicide note recovered from the crime scene made a special request to donate their bodies to AIIMS Bhopal for medical studies.

Discovery and Initial Response

Dr. Hari Kishan Sharma, who runs a homeopathy dispensary from his home, was found hanging. The sad revelation came when a patient alerted the neighbors after waiting for half an hour for no response. He looked inside and saw Sharma hanging and immediately informed the police. The cause of her daughter Chitra's death is still unclear, pending post-mortem results.

A four-page note, allegedly written by Sharma, revealed that he was unable to cope with the loss of his wife, who died four years ago. Her daughter, also a homeopathy doctor, had been battling depression since her mother's death. The letter added that Sharma's declining health made it difficult for him to take care of his daughter.

The octogenarian said he had not been able to overcome the grief of losing his wife, who passed away four years ago. The daughter was also a homoeopathy doctor and had slipped into depression after losing her mother, the note added.

Avdhesh Singh Tomar, Area Police Inspector

Homeopathy doctor Dr. Sharma wrote in the note that his wife's death broke him emotionally, and he was not keeping well. Also, taking care of his daughter, who was struggling with depression, had become increasingly difficult for him, the police officer said. The doctor had lost his son long back, he said.

The octogenarian said he had not been able to overcome the grief of losing his wife, who passed away four years ago.

District police inspector Avdhesh Singh Tomar confirmed the request, saying the elderly doctor worried about his daughter's future.

Authorities are conducting further investigations to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the death. Postmortem reports are awaited to confirm Chitra's cause of death.
