In a disturbing incident from Raipur’s Vikas Nagar, a man allegedly pushed his wife off the second floor of their house following an argument. The woman, Sapna, sustained severe injuries and is currently in critical condition at DK Super Speciality Hospital, police confirmed.

The accused, identified as 38-year-old Sunil Jagbandhu, reportedly asked his wife to serve him food. However, Sapna was busy on her mobile phone, which delayed her response. This sparked a heated argument between the couple, escalating into violence.

According to reports, Sunil, who is described as a habitual drinker, returned home late at night under the influence of alcohol. The argument intensified when Sunil, in a fit of rage, began beating their 9-year-old daughter over a separate issue. Sapna intervened to protect the child, which further provoked him. In a shocking act, Sunil dragged Sapna to the second-floor balcony and pushed her off in the presence of their young daughter.

He admitted during questioning that his anger over Sapna’s delay in serving food, coupled with her phone use, led him to attack her and their daughter. (Representational Image: Pexels)

Hearing the commotion and the sound of Sapna falling, neighbors rushed to her aid and called the police. Authorities arrived promptly and arrested Sunil on charges of attempted murder and domestic violence. He admitted during questioning that his anger over Sapna’s delay in serving food, coupled with her phone use, led him to attack her and their daughter.

The Gudhiyari Police have initiated a detailed investigation into the incident. Neighbors and family members described Sunil as frequently abusive, with a history of alcohol-fueled outbursts.
