On Thursday night, a bomb threat phone call was made to Poona Hospital in Navi Peth in a state of panic. Responding quickly, the Pune City Police launched a comprehensive inspection of the hospital premises. Thankfully, no explosive devices were found in Poona Hospital during the examination.
Around midnight on Thursday, authorities at the Pune Police Control Room received an unnamed call, notifying them about a bomb allegedly planted in Poona Hospital, which is a private hospital. A heavy police force and Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS) rushed to the hospital.
The Vishrambaug Police Station and the Bomb Squad were quickly notified about the incident. While the credibility of the threat remained unverified, anxiety surged in the surrounding area as rumors spread regarding a potential bomb threat.
The Bomb Squad conducted a thorough probe, inspecting suspicious items until midnight. No object resembling a bomb was discovered, and it was discovered that the call to the police control room was an act of mischief.
Now, the Pune police are searching for the accused who made the hoax call to the Pune Police Control Room.
In a similar incident, on Friday, the Mumbai Traffic Police Control Room received a threat message from an unknown person. According to the police, the message stated that bombs had been placed at six locations across Mumbai.
The Mumbai Police has said that efforts are in progress to trace the message sender. According to the police, this message had come on the WhatsApp number of the helpline. Following this, the traffic police also informed the city police and crime branch ATS.
