Madhya Pradesh: Doctor Shoots Nurse Over Suspicion of Affair with Another Man

In a dreadful incident that surfaced in Madhya Pradesh's Jabalpur, a 27-year-old nurse sustained a bullet injury after a male doctor allegedly fired two rounds at her following an argument. It is being asserted that the incident took place on Wednesday after the doctor suspected an affair between the nurse and another man.

Priyanka Shukla, Additional Superintendent of Police of Jabalpur, identified the accused as Dr. Sandeep Soni, who is 34 years old. A case was lodged in the matter, and the doctor was placed under arrest by the police.

The police official stated that the doctor, who was accused, was arrested for firing two bullets at the nurse over her suspected affair with another person.

During the preliminary inquiry, it was reportedly disclosed that the nurse was in a relationship with the doctor. Although of late, the nurse developed a close association with her old friend.

The official said that the doctor came to know about the relationship. An argument broke out between the doctor and nurse over the matter. In a fit of rage, the accused fired at her with a country-made revolver in a fit of rage.

Shukla added that the nurse suffered injuries to her ribs and was admitted to a hospital for treatment.

Police have lodged a case against the doctor on the charge of attempted murder under the Arms Act.

A similar incident happened in October 2023, when a Michigan doctor kidnapped his nursing student ex-girlfriend, shot her in the head at an Illinois truck stop, and then took his own life. On October 13, Dr. Justin Wendling, a 26-year-old doctor, murdered Bryant after she tried to flee.
