MIP Presentation - Bioavailability of Drugs

A session on the Bioavailability of Drugs was conducted on 2nd June at 7 pm IST through a Zoom call.

The session started with Dr. Munmun Rai, MBBS (Medical Officer, MedBound) welcoming everybody and acknowledging their presence. Then, the session was taken over by Vanshika Bajaj, (Marketing Intern, MedBound) and M Subha Maheswari, (Program Coordinator, MedBound) who introduced the MedBound List platform. Further, the session was handed over to Sahil Singh, B. Pharm student, Delhi Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Research, India.

Sahil started by explaining the definition of Bioavailability and then moved on to Absolute bioavailability & Comparative Bioavailabilitydrug formulation, route of administration, and different kinds of interactions between the drugs & food. Toward the end, Sahil elaborated on strategies to enhance the bioavailability of drugs.

The session was then taken over by M Subha Maheswari, who had a brief discussion with the interns on circadian differences & their influence on bioavailability. In the end, a vote of thanks was delivered by M Subha and Sahil Singh.
