A newborn baby was found dead in a toilet at a government hospital in Karnataka's Chikkaballapur district. The incident occurred on Tuesday, and the police have launched an investigation into the matter.

According to reports, the baby was born to a 20-year-old woman who was admitted to the hospital on Monday. The woman had delivered the baby in the hospital's labor ward, but the medical staff allegedly did not provide her with proper care and attention. The baby was later found dead in the toilet, and it is suspected that the baby was flushed down the toilet.

The police have registered a case under Section 318 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), which deals with the concealment of birth by secretly disposing of the dead body of a child. The police are investigating the matter and have questioned the hospital staff and the mother of the baby.

The hospital authorities have suspended two staff members, including a nurse and a ward attendant, pending an inquiry. The hospital has also formed an internal committee to investigate the incident.
