The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially opened registrations for the National Teachers Eligibility Test (NTET) 2025, designed for postgraduate degree holders specializing in Indian systems of medicine and homoeopathy who aim to pursue a teaching career in AYUSH institutions. This marks the first iteration of NTET specifically catering to postgraduates in traditional medical systems like Ayurveda, Siddha, Unani, and Homoeopathy.

Eligible candidates must possess postgraduate qualifications in relevant disciplines, including:

1. Ayurveda: BAMS with MD/MS

2. Homoeopathy: BHMS with MD

3. Unani: BUMS with MD

4. Other specializations: MSc in subjects such as Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Forensic Medicine and Toxicology, Medical Botany/Botany, Pharmacology/Pharmacognosy, Microbiology, or a Master of Public Health (MPH)

1. Registration window: June 4, 2025, to June 23, 2025

2. Fee payment deadline: June 24, 2025

3. Correction window: June 25 to 27, 2025

4. Examination date: July 17, 2025

Fee categories depend on applicant classification:

• General (UR/NRI/OCI/Foreign Nationals): ₹ 4,000

• General‑EWS / OBC‑NCL: ₹ 3,500

• SC / ST / PwD / Third gender: ₹ 3,000

Applicants must register online with a valid email and mobile number. Following registration, they fill out the application, upload required documents (photograph, signature, category/PwD certificate, etc.), pay the fee via integrated gateways, and download the confirmation page. After payment, a confirmation page is generated which should be printed and saved for future reference. In case the confirmation page doesn’t generate due to technical issues, candidates can retry the transaction or contact the payment gateway or NTA helpline. Duplicate payments will be refunded after reconciliation.

NTET 2025 will be conducted in a Computer Based Test (CBT) format. The exam duration is two hours (120 minutes) and consists of 100 multiple‑choice questions, each carrying one mark, with no negative marking. The question paper will be available in both English and Hindi.

The NTET serves as a qualifying benchmark, assessing candidates’ subject knowledge and teaching aptitude. A minimum score of 50 percent is required to qualify. Certification is valid for ten years, but candidates who take a break of ten years or more from teaching must re-qualify through NTET.
