The Delhi Police detained Rajwinder Singh for allegedly killing a woman on a Queensland beach in Australia in 2018.
On October 21, 2018, Toyah Cordingley (pharmacy worker) was killed while walking her dog on Wangetti Beach, 40 kilometers north of Cairns.
Rajwinder Singh worked as a nursing assistant in Innisfail Town. He is originally from Punjab, India. He was the main suspect in the case but fled the country two days after Cordingley was murdered, leaving behind his job and family in Australia.
The Queensland Police offered a record-breaking $1 million reward to anyone who could find him. The Queensland Police had never placed a bounty quite so large.
Friday (November 25) at 6 am, Singh was taken into custody by the Delhi Police Special Cell near GT Karnal Road.
"We can confirm a man was arrested in India today following a significant investigation into Toyah Cordingley's tragic death in Far North Queensland in 2018," Queensland Police said in a tweet.
