Should the Professional Courses be taught in the Local Languages?
The demand to teach medicine and other professional courses in languages besides English has been made repeatedly over the years, and it was reiterated most recently by Union Home Minister Amit Shah when he launched the first three biochemistry, anatomy, and medical physiology books in Hindi on October 18.
On Twitter, some people welcomed the government's decision while some opposed it.
One of the users said, higher education in the mother tongue is essential not only from the point of view of knowledge and science but also for the all-around progress of the country. In many developed countries like China, Russia, Germany, Japan, etc., higher and technical education is in self-language. If only! In India too it would have started much earlier. Now it should increase continuously in all courses.
