Vidyarthi Bhavan, the palace of Bangalore for eating Masala Dosa. It is a vegetarian hotel in South India of the highest caliber. The term was first used in 1943 as a modest cafe for students; Vidyarthi, which is Kannada for "students," and Bhavan, which is for "building," are the two words that make up the name.

The Masala Dosa with Chutney and Filter Coffee is Vidyarthi Bhavan's most well-known dish.

When Zev Siegl, a co-founder of Starbucks, recently traveled to Bangalore for an investor conference, he stopped by this venerable hotel.

He visited Vidyarthi Bhavan to sample the renowned regional cuisine of Bangalore. He was served the famous Masala Dosa and Filter Coffee.
