A 27-year-old transgender woman has sparked widespread curiosity and debate after sharing her plans to repurpose the six ribs she had surgically removed into a crown. Emily James, hailing from Kansas City in the United States, reportedly spent $17,000 (approximately ₹14 lakh) on the procedure to achieve a smaller waistline. In an interview, she explained, “I plan on having someone turn them into a crown. The ribs were returned to me after the surgery, and I initially thought about gifting them to my best friend.”

Emily is currently recovering from the surgery and has been documenting the entire process on her social media platforms. She revealed that she wears a corset regularly to help reduce swelling. Remarkably, she rated her pain as a mere 2 out of 10 and credited her medical team for ensuring a smooth recovery.

Known for her presence as a social media influencer and self-proclaimed "sex therapist," Emily has openly shared her experience. Just days before undergoing the procedure, she posted a video announcing, “In three days, I’m getting ribs removed on each side,” humorously adding, “I’m going to have an Emily barbecue.” After the surgery, she provided her followers with updates on her recovery and her reasons for undergoing the procedure, which she clarified were entirely cosmetic.

Her posts have received a mix of reactions, with followers sharing creative ideas for what to do with the ribs. (Representational Image: Pixabay)

Her posts have received a mix of reactions, with followers sharing creative ideas for what to do with the ribs. Suggestions ranged from turning them into chew toys to using them for broth. One user even inquired how her "meat" might taste, to which Emily jokingly replied, “I think my meat would taste delicious,” but quickly added that she has no intention of consuming her own bones. She elaborated, “Eating human meat can lead to severe and fatal health issues, so I’ll pass on cannibalism.”

Emily also addressed criticism of her decision, maintaining confidence in her choices. “Removing my ribs doesn’t change who I am as a kind, loving trans woman,” she said. “Some of your moms have Brazilian butt lifts—how is this any different? It’s my body and my money, and I’ll do what I want with both.”
