The incidents of reporting unhygienic foods have increased recently, which is raising concerns over the quality and hygiene of the foods. Recently, a woman in Nagaland found live maggots crawling in a fish curry that was ordered from a local restaurant. The video of the incident was shared on Instagram by @hornbilltvoffcial.

Maggot is the larva stage of an insect, predominantly a young form of fly. These are developed from eggs laid by flies. These maggots are found in decaying matter and other foods and later they develop into a fly. Most of the maggots are white or yellowish and in different sizes.

In the Instagram post hornbilltvofficial wrote about the incident and shared the video and it gained over 10,000 views. A woman from Nagaland detects the live maggots in the fish curry, which is ordered from a food restaurant at Pherima, Chumoukedia. The existence of live maggots in food shows poor hygiene and insufficient storage practices at the restaurant in Pherima, Chumoukedia.

This incident lifted apprehensions about the significance of food safety regulations and regular inspections in the food service industry.

The netizens responded to the video in various ways. One user said that should mention the name of the restaurant, and another said that's extra protein, come on now. Another user appreciated Hornbill for coverage of the incident and for creating public awareness.

A similar incident happened in Hyderabad, where a family ordered chicken biryani through Zomato and found a dead lizard in the meal. They shared the images of the dead lizard in the chicken biryani on social media platforms.
