Bridging Medicine and Media: Dr. Muhammad Faisal’s Internship Experience with MedBound Times

Dr. Muhammad Faisal Reflects on a Transformative Internship at MedBound Times

MBT Desk

Dear MedBound Times family,

I, Dr. Muhammad Faisal, am delighted to write about my experience as a Medical Journalism Intern with MedBound Times, where I spent 5 months, including 3 months in a paid capacity. You see, throughout this internship, as I already have a knack for writing and creativity, MedBound Times allowed me to take it further in storytelling that can make a difference.

During the internship, I wrote and edited medical progress and health policy news articles, breaking down technical research into simpler terms for the masses while maintaining accuracy and credibility for each article. I also thoroughly researched instances of medical negligence, their causes, and how they should have been avoided — a segment that taught me the value of ethical reporting and rigorous research.

One of the most memorable learnings was reading about the Tylenol poisoning tragedy, which not only transformed the pharmaceutical packaging business but also illustrated how journalism can influence deep systemic change. Describing such paradigmatic cases taught me more about the ability of healthcare communication to transform public safety and awareness.

This internship not only helped me write in medical terms but also sharpened my medical communication, ethical reporting, and time management skills. I am particularly thankful to Ms. Himani Negi, Ms. M Subha Maheswari, and Ms. Sai Sindhuja K for their guidance and mentorship.

My experience at MedBound Times has been truly enriching and has motivated me to continue working at the intersection of medicine and media.

Best regards,
