Radio-Diagnostics (Tech) as a career choice
Radiography Diagnostics is a professional para-medical course, that equips students to operate in the healthcare industry.
It is highly intriguing because it can be used in practically every sector of a healthcare team. It is utilized in the imaging department, Emergency wards, Intensive care units (ICUs) and even in operating theaters.
My decision to switch from the general line of study to complete my PhD to studying Radio-diagnostic Tech stemmed from the fact that I always wanted to work in the health care system and help people.
My fascination with science and technology drove me to this field of study because of how it implements fundamental scientific principles from biology and physics in a way that captivates the imagination.
Another aspect of my interest in this field is I get to learn new skills. Technicians in radiology are trained to do X-rays, CT scans, MRIs, and other diagnostic tests.
Sonographers are also taught about ultrasound through radio diagnostics. Additionally, they have received training in administering radiotherapy to cancer patients.
The need for diagnostic imaging in nursing homes, hospitals (super specialty), and diagnostic centers is growing and will continue to do so for the foreseeable future due to the fact that they boost one's employability and also diversify one's professional opportunities in India and overseas.
Additionally, there is demand for research scientists to join clinical research teams inside governmental organizations. The future of radio diagnostics is promising for those who are invested in it.
