Charity Pierce, a reality television personality who appeared on Season 3 of TLC’s 'My 600-Lb. Life', has died at the age of 50, her daughter Charly Jo confirmed in a message on Facebook. Pierce had been receiving hospice care for several weeks and passed away on January 27, 2026, surrounded by loved ones, according to reports and her daughter’s post.
In a Facebook post shared on January 27, 2026, Pierce’s daughter Charly Jo wrote that she initially hesitated to share the news publicly but felt compelled as messages and calls accumulated. In her message, Charly Jo stated:
“Almost all immediate family knows so, my mom passed away today. She’s up with her momma and brother and sister and she’s finally at peace. Fly high momma. I hope you know how much I love you and how grateful I was to be able to be by your side while you took your last breath.”

In the months before her passing, Pierce had been in hospice care due to ongoing health issues, including lymphedema, a chronic condition characterized by swelling caused by impaired lymphatic drainage and fluid buildup in her lungs. These conditions placed substantial strain on her overall health, and she remained under palliative care to manage her symptoms.
Earlier in life, Pierce also faced other serious health challenges; in 2020 she publicly revealed a kidney cancer diagnosis, which led to surgical removal of one kidney.
Pierce rose to national attention following her appearance on My 600-Lb. Life, a reality series that follows individuals dealing with extreme obesity as they pursue weight-loss surgery and lifestyle changes under the guidance of bariatric surgeon Dr. Younan Nowzaradan.
When she first appeared on the show in 2015, Pierce weighed nearly 800 pounds and was largely dependent on others for daily activities. Over the course of her story, she made significant progress, losing hundreds of pounds after bariatric surgery and subsequent skin removal procedures.
Pierce later appeared on My 600-Lb. Life: Where Are They Now?, where her continued efforts to maintain weight loss and rebuild her life were documented.
Pierce’s story was followed by many viewers who saw her journey as an example of the challenges individuals with severe obesity face, both physically and emotionally. Her weight-loss progress, struggles with complications including skin issues and infections, and determination to improve her health were central themes in her television appearances.
