Dr. S. P. Kalantri, MD, MPH

Dr. S. P. Kalantri is a physician and academic based in Sevagram, Maharashtra. A graduate of Government Medical College, Nagpur, he joined the Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (MGIMS) in 1982 and went on to serve as Professor of Medicine and Medical Superintendent of Kasturba Hospital. Known for his evidence-based and thoughtful approach to clinical practice, he emphasizes careful judgment and questions unnecessary medical interventions. He later pursued public health training at the University of California, Berkeley. Outside medicine, he enjoys cycling, trekking in the Himalayas, and writing about life in Sevagram.
