Every year, more than 20 lakh students appear for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG), competing for a limited number of MBBS seats across India. In Uttar Pradesh, government medical colleges remain the first choice because of their affordable fees and strong clinical exposure. However, the intense competition means that many qualified students are unable to secure a government seat despite scoring well in NEET.
As a result, private medical colleges have become an important pathway for aspiring doctors seeking quality medical education closer to home. Uttar Pradesh has one of the largest networks of private medical colleges in the country, offering thousands of MBBS seats through state counseling.
Uttar Pradesh has more than 30 private medical colleges, collectively contributing thousands of MBBS seats to the state's medical education ecosystem. Annual tuition fees generally range from around ₹11 lakh to ₹19 lakh, depending on the institution and category of admission.
The colleges listed below have been selected based on factors such as infrastructure, clinical exposure, patient load, academic reputation, and availability of postgraduate programs.
