Faridabad, Haryana: The devastating car blast near Delhi's iconic Red Fort on November 10, 2025, which claimed around 10 lives and injured over 20 people, has brought Al-Falah University in Faridabad under intense scrutiny by investigating agencies. The blast, which occurred at approximately 6:52 PM, has revealed connections to what authorities are calling a "white-collar terror ecosystem" with links to Pakistan-based terrorist organizations.

The Al-Falah University Connection

Located in Dhauj village, approximately 45 kilometers from Delhi, Al-Falah University's 70-acre campus has become the focal point of a major counter-terrorism investigation. The institution, established under the Haryana Private Universities Act and granted full university status in 2014, operates three major colleges and a 650-bed charitable hospital.

Key Suspects Linked to University

Investigating agencies have arrested multiple individuals with connections to Al-Falah University:

Dr. Umar Mohammad Nabi: DNA testing has confirmed the body recovered from the blast site is that of Dr Umar Mohammad Nabi Bhat and that his DNA matches material found in the Hyundai i20, establishing he was the vehicle’s driver at the time of the explosion.

Dr. Muzammil Ahmad Ganai: A faculty member from Al-Falah University's medical school and resident of Pulwama's Koil village, Dr. Ganai was one of the first to be arrested in the investigation. He had been working at the university and reportedly came under suspicion in late October following his alleged links to separatist posters in Jammu and Kashmir.

Dr. Shaheen Shahid (Sayeed) Ansari: Employed at Al-Falah University's medical school, Dr. Shaheen was arrested in Lucknow by Uttar Pradesh Police and J&K Police. Authorities are investigating her alleged role in attempting to establish a women's wing of the terrorist organization Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM). A weapon was reportedly recovered from her vehicle during raids.

Dr. Adeel Ahmad Rather: The fourth doctor linked to the terror module and associated with Al-Falah University.

The Terror Funding: Almost Rs 20 Lakh Pool

According to official sources, the four doctors including Dr. Muzzamil, Dr. Adeel, Dr. Umar, and Dr. Shaheen collectively raised a substantial fund of around Rs 20 lakh to finance terror attacks across Delhi and the National Capital Region. The entire sum was handed over to Dr. Umar Mohammad for safekeeping and operational use.

December 6 Plot: Serial Blasts Planned

Fresh intelligence reports have revealed that the group had marked December 6 as the date for possible coordinated serial blasts across the National Capital Region. The date holds significant symbolic importance as it marks the anniversary of the 1992 Babri Masjid demolition in Ayodhya, suggesting the attacks were designed to create maximum communal tension.

Massive NPK Fertilizer Procurement

Using the pooled funds, the group allegedly purchased approximately 26 quintals of NPK (Nitrogen, Phosphorus, and Potassium) fertilizer for around Rs 3 lakh from suppliers in Gurugram, Nuh, and nearby towns. The fertilizer, when mixed with other chemicals, is commonly used to manufacture Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) and has become a crucial lead in the investigation. Police sources have confirmed that the procurement of such a massive quantity of fertilizer cannot be incidental, and financial transactions and delivery records are being meticulously verified.

Incriminating Evidence from Campus Rooms

Building 17, Room No. 13 and Room No. 4: The Conspiracy Hubs

Investigators have identified specific locations within Al-Falah University's Building 17 as critical to the terror plot:

Room No. 13 (Dr. Muzammil's room): This room, located just 300 meters from where 360 kg of explosives were seized in Dhauj, became the primary meeting hub for the accused. Police recovered diaries, notebooks, and electronic devices containing coded language and encrypted messages. The documents reference dates between November 8-12, with repeated mentions of the word "operation," suggesting active planning during that period.

Room No. 4 (Dr. Umar Mohammad's room): The recovered notebooks indicate planning of “white-collar terror” that stretched over nearly two years, with coded references suggesting a structured terror module operating under the guise of academia.

Additional diaries seized from these locations contained coded words and lists of approximately 25 individuals, mostly from Jammu and Kashmir and Faridabad. Investigators believe these documents hold critical details about the coordinated terror plot spanning multiple Indian cities.

Chemicals Smuggled from University Laboratory

The investigation has revealed a disturbing pattern of chemical smuggling from Al-Falah University's laboratory facilities. The laboratory is located just a few meters from Dr. Muzammil's Room 13, providing easy access for the accused, this is something they firstly planned.

Key Findings:

  • Dr. Umar Mohammad and Dr. Shaheen Shahid, both faculty members, allegedly arranged and removed chemicals from the university laboratory

  • Forensic experts detected chemical residues in both Room 13 and Room 4

  • The smuggled chemicals were stored at rented properties in Dhauj and Taga villages in Faridabad

  • Police suspect these chemicals were used to manufacture ANFO (Ammonium Nitrate Fuel Oil) explosives by mixing ammonium nitrate with oxidizers and fuel oil

  • Electronic devices, pen drives, and two diaries filled with code words were recovered after Dr. Muzammil's room was sealed

The proximity of the laboratory to the suspects' rooms and the detection of chemical residues raise serious concerns about whether university facilities were systematically exploited for bomb-making purposes.

University's Official Response

Al-Falah University's administration has categorically denied institutional involvement in the terror activities and distanced itself from the arrested individuals. Vice-Chancellor Dr. Bhupinder Kaur Anand issued a formal statement:

"We are deeply saddened and anguished by the unfortunate developments that took place and strongly condemn the same. Our thoughts and prayers are with all the innocent people affected by these distressing events. We have also learned that two of our doctors have been detained by the Investigating Agencies. We wish to make it clear that the University has no connection with the said persons apart from them working in their official capacities with the University."

The statement further clarified: "No such chemical or material, as is being alleged by certain platforms, is being used, stored or handled in the University premises. All laboratories are used solely for academic and training requirements under regulated safety norms."

Vice-Chancellor Bhupinder Kaur Anan also criticized what she described as unfounded claims that could damage the university's reputation. The university has pledged full cooperation with investigating agencies.

Medical Professionals in Terror Networks: A Growing Concern

The involvement of highly educated medical professionals in terror activities represents an alarming development for security agencies. This "white-collar terror ecosystem" demonstrates how individuals with specialized knowledge and respected positions can be radicalized and recruited for extremist activities.

Background of Accused Doctors

  • Dr. Umar Mohammad Nabi: Born on February 24, 1989, Umar completed his MD in Medicine from Government Medical College, Srinagar, and later served as a Senior Resident at GMC Anantnag before moving to Delhi.

  • Dr. Muzammil Ahmad Ganai: Resident of Pulwama, taught students in the university and also worked as a doctor in the hospital.

  • Dr. Shaheen Shahid Ansari: Employed at medical school and allegedly recruited for organizational expansion and to establish JeM's women's wing in India

  • Dr. Adeel Ahmad Rather: He is a young Kashmiri physician, left the Government Medical College (GMC) Anantnag in October 2024 to join a private hospital in Uttar Pradesh, he worked along with Dr. Umar and Dr. Muzammil in the university. He was also involved in funding of the crime.

NAAC Controversy

The National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) has issued a show-cause notice to Al-Falah University after questions were raised about the institution claiming an A grade on its publicity material and website. NAAC has asked the university to explain the alleged discrepancy in accreditation representation while education regulators review institutional records as part of routine compliance checks triggered by the case.
