Three Bengaluru Doctors Booked After Viral Video Shows Triple Riding With Beer Bottle

Doctors identified as Dhanush, Apoorva alias Prapurna and Avinash were booked after a viral video showed them triple riding on a motorcycle, with one holding a beer bottle on a busy Bengaluru road.

Three doctors in Bengaluru were booked after a video showing them triple riding on a motorcycle while one held a beer bottle went viral on social media, prompting traffic police to register a case.

The incident occurred around 10 pm on Sunday on 16th Main Road between BTM Layout and Jayadeva Junction in Bengaluru.

Police identified the three doctors as Dhanush (30), Apoorva alias Prapurna (30) and Avinash (37).

According to police, Dhanush, a resident of Yeshwantpur, works at Sapthagiri Medical College in Chikkabanavara. Apoorva, who lives in Bommanahalli, works at Vydehi Hospital, while Avinash, a resident of MC Layout, is employed at Chamundeshwari Medical College in Channapatna in Bengaluru South district.

Celebration ride after completing MS in Orthopedics

Police said the three had met to celebrate completing their Master of Science (MS) in Orthopedics.

The trio had reportedly spent time at a bar and restaurant before leaving the venue on a motorcycle. During the ride, Avinash was seen holding a half-emptied beer bottle while seated as a pillion rider.

A passerby recorded the incident and uploaded the video online. The clip quickly spread on social media, drawing criticism from users who flagged the risky behavior on a busy city road.

FIR registered after video surfaces online

After the video went viral, Mico Layout traffic police took suo motu cognizance of the incident and registered a First Information Report (FIR) against the three for traffic violations, including rash or negligent riding on a public road that could endanger human life or safety.

Using the motorcycle’s registration number KA-04JS-8028, police traced the vehicle to Dhanush and summoned all three doctors to the police station for questioning.

Police said the trio admitted to the act during questioning.

Traffic enforcement drive in Bengaluru

The case comes amid ongoing traffic enforcement efforts in the city. Bengaluru traffic police recently conducted a special week-long drive from March 16 to March 22 targeting offences such as drunk driving and over speeding across the city’s traffic police stations.

Authorities said the campaign was aimed at improving road safety and discouraging reckless behavior on Bengaluru’s roads.
