Hyderabad: A 45-year-old glass worker from Hafeez Baba Nagar has accused a private hair treatment clinic in Banjara Hills of medical negligence after he developed serious health complications following a platelet-rich plasma therapy session. The complaint has prompted the Hyderabad police to register a case and begin a formal investigation.
The man lodged a police complaint on the night of December 17, 2025, stating that his health deteriorated soon after undergoing a hair transplant at a clinic located on Road Number 14 in Banjara Hills. According to his statement, he had been experiencing hair loss and approached the clinic after receiving a recommendation from acquaintances.
When he contacted the clinic, a staff member who identified herself as Aanam assured him that the centre offered advanced hair restoration services. Based on this assurance, he decided to visit the clinic on December 15, 2025, at around 1 pm.
At the clinic, a receptionist named Mamatha allegedly advised the complainant to undergo a six-month PRP therapy package priced at ₹1,500 per month. The first session was conducted the same day by a laboratory technician identified as Praveen.
The complainant told police that within minutes of the procedure, he began to feel dizzy and unwell. He reported these symptoms to the clinic staff immediately.
Despite expressing discomfort, the man alleged that the clinic staff dismissed his condition as minor and asked him to return home. He stated that no doctor examined him after the symptoms appeared, nor was he given medical guidance or emergency care.
Later that evening, his condition worsened. He reportedly experienced continuous dizziness, repeated vomiting, and numbness on the left side of his body. The symptoms persisted, affecting his ability to carry out daily activities.
Following the complaint, the Banjara Hills police registered a case under Section 125(a) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, which relates to acts of negligence causing injury. Sub-Inspector P Naveen confirmed that an inquiry is underway.
Police officials stated they would issue notices to the clinic management and verify whether the establishment had valid licenses. Investigators will also examine the professional qualifications of the staff involved and review treatment records related to the PRP procedure.
