What do you do?

  1. I'm currently pursuing my internship at JSS Dental College.

  2. What prompted you to choose this profession? As a child, I was always intrigued to learn something where art and science combine seamlessly, making a powerful impact on individuals' lives, and thus I chose dentistry.

  3. What is the best part about being a dental professional?

    The best part of being a dental professional is seeing the boost of energy, joy, and confidence in the patient's face after restoring their smile or providing relief from pain they've been battling for days or months.

4. How do you like spending your free time? I enjoy leisurely reading books or painting something aesthetic while listening to music.

5. Which is your favorite subject in dentistry and why?

My favorite subject is Conservative Dentistry And Endodontics because it proposes interesting techniques to preserve natural teeth while maintaining their integrity and functionality.

6. Which is your least favorite subject in dentistry?

My least favorite subject is Public Health Dentistry, primarily because it can be dry and requires memorization of definitions.

7. What are some studying tips you use to retain and understand things better? I make mnemonics and create notes that I stick beside the text, making revision hassle-free as I don't have to spend time searching for the notes.

8. Which dental procedure(s) do you enjoy/anticipate doing the most?

Jaw-relation in prosthodontics and doing restorations in conservative dentistry are some of the dental procedures I enjoy doing the most.

9.What do you enjoy more, doing an RCT or extracting teeth? Generally, I prefer doing an RCT (Root Canal Treatment) rather than extracting teeth.

10.What are some challenges you face in your professional field? Getting a proper mix and recording a proper impression in prosthodontics has been one of the significant challenges I've faced.

11. How would your friends describe you?

My friends would describe me as bubbly and fun-loving but a bit clumsy and forgetful.

12. What has been the best/most memorable moment in your dental school so far?

Being awarded 3rd place in the International BioEthicon Conference organized by UNESCO in SRM.

13. Has dentistry impacted your food choices? Like, do you consume fewer sugary and sticky food items?

Honestly, I'm someone whose meal is incomplete without having something sweet, but being a dentist, I make sure to brush my teeth twice and floss at least once daily.

14. As a dental health professional, what is your dental health care regime?

I brush my teeth twice a day and make it a point to floss at least once daily, setting an example before giving these instructions to someone else.

15. If given a choice, what alternate career would you have opted for? I would have opted for architecture as an alternate career.

16. Where would you like to work in the future?

I would like to work as a pedodontist, ideally in Switzerland.

17. What is your dream travel destination?

My dream travel destination is Tromso, Norway.

18. Tell us a secret talent(s) that the world does not know about you. A secret talent that no one is aware of is my elocution.

19. What are you not very good at?

I'm not very good at swimming.
