Q

Why did you choose this profession?

A

Well in the beginning my family wants me to be a doctor. I was like okay let me become one. But after entering into this profession, I have learned about many things. You get to know how your whole body works in reality. So, this is an interesting profession in which you directly get first-hand experience of being a doctor during college itself and not just bookish knowledge. It also provides us a chance to help other human beings and care for them. The happiness that comes after healing people is priceless.

Q

When did you actually start preparing for NEET?

A

In 2019, when I was in 11th class.

Q

Did you take any coaching? Do you think coaching is necessary for clearing NEET?

A

Yes, I took coaching. But it's not necessary to crack the exam. You can prepare yourself because in this era a lot of teachers are available on YouTube. There are many videos that can help you to crack this exam but it's not like you have no benefit of coaching. It provides you with a competitive environment and guides you towards your journey.

Q

How did you balance your school and NEET Preparations? Was it the same or you studied separately for NEET and the school examination?

A

As I mentioned earlier I started my journey from my 11th class. Your NEET syllabus and your Board syllabus are exactly the same. The only difference is, your coaching will teach you from an objective point of view and your school from a subjective point of view. I applied my coaching knowledge in school exams because they taught everything very deeply.

Q

What were your sources during preparation for Biology, Physics, and Chemistry?

A
  • Biology [NCERT is your bible]

  • Physics [Notes, Coaching material]

  • Chemistry [NCERT, Notes, Coaching material]

You can solve the previous year's questions. They help you a lot to understand the exam pattern and the type of questions they ask. I solved JEE question papers also for physics and chemistry to build up my concept.

Q

Are NCERTs sufficient for cracking NEET? What's your opinion on this?

A

Yes, NCERTs are enough for Biology and Chemistry but you can't read physics NCERT. It's not that much interesting but you can solve the back exercise of it. For physics, you can prefer the coaching notes and material.

Q

What are the major challenges that you faced during preparation? and How did you tackle them?

A

Major challenge during my preparation was to stay motivated during the whole journey. Sometimes, I felt like I couldn't do this because after studying everything and solving a lot of MCQs also, I was not been able to fetch good marks in my mock tests. I felt too demotivated and sometimes I left my mock test in between or submitted it incompletely. But I kept trying because somewhere in my mind I knew that I could do this. Without clarity of your goal, it's like a boat lost in this sea. Well, I made myself motivated by imagining my life after cracking this exam. My family supported me a lot. I just try to imagine myself as a doctor. Well as you all know "If you want something passionately then the whole universe works towards achieving it ". You just need to believe in yourself.

I don't think relationship hampers your selection if you balance in between them. If you both have same carrier goals then you can help each other as well. You can also motivate each other. (Representational image: Unsplash)

Q

Is it true that when you prepare for this exam, you have to devote longer hours or burn midnight oil? Did you have time to attend family functions or festivals or were you always studying?

A

Yes, you have to devote longer hours to your studies. I used to sleep at 4 am during my preparation. It's not like you don't have time to attend family functions and all. We all just have to balance between all these things, there should be a holistic approach. Time management is important you just need to decide how much time you are going to devote to your studies and how much to rest of the things.

Q

How did you keep yourself motivated during your entire journey?

A

Well I kept myself motivated by believing in myself.

Q

Did you use technology like social media or phone during your preparation? How did you prevent yourself from Doomscroling?

A

I didn't have any social media account during my preparation. I used to watch videos of those students who got selected on YouTube. It motivated me to crack this exam.

Q

Nowadays, coaching for NEET has started from an early age (even 6th or 8th grade). What is your opinion on this?

A

In my opinion it is too early age for NEET coaching. These are the developmental stages of a child. Let them explore the various opportunities. Don't pressurize or burden them.

Q

What do you think is the right time for starting preparation of NEET?

A

Well right time for starting NEET preparation is from 11th class. In this phase you will able to understand the things in a better way because you have the same syllabus.

Q

How many attempts one should take at this exam if one does not succeed?

A

According to me 3 attempts are enough.

Q

The cost of pursuing an MBBS degree from a private university in India is very high, and not everyone can afford it. What do you suggest someone do if unable to secure admission in a government institution? Should they take a gap year or seek admission abroad for the same course?

A

If you are not able to secure rank in a government college then take a gap year and try again.

Q

Your Mantra for success?

A

Hard work, focused and believe in yourself.

Q

What advice would you like to give to the NEET aspirants?

A

1. Always learn from your mistakes.

2. Don't lose hope.

3. Keep positive thoughts and avoid negative ones.

4. Always try to look forward and keep yourself motivated.

5. Give your best.

6. you just need to be consistence throughout the journey.

7. All the best!

Q

Do you believe that relationship hampers your selection? If yes, why? If no, then why not?

A

No, I don't think relationship hampers your selection if you balance in between them. If you both have same carrier goals then you can help each other as well. You can also motivate each other.

Q

What is your spiciest opinion that most people disagree with?

A

Marks does not matter in your life but only learning matters.

Q

How would your parents describe what you do?

A

They proudly say that "We are going to be a doctor's parents".

Q

What do you hope the world will look like in 10 years?

A

I hope everyone lives a healthy life, and there will be cures for diseases like HIV (AIDS) that are difficult to treat. There will be less patient burden on hospitals and an increase in the number of doctors.

Q

Anything you want to share about yourself

A

I was an average student in my school time. Then I decided to achieve something in my life. I worked hard and cracked the NEET-UG exam. This shows that an average student with dedication and hard work can also crack this exam.
